Have you ever wondered How electricity Travels?.Today we need electricity to survive.Electricity helps us live and without electricity we won’t be able to cook on a oven,search the internet and look on the news to see what is happening around the world.Did you know electricity starts at a power station.A power station holds and send electricity under the ground.

The generator gets electricity from wind,water and coal.
A generator pumps electricity in lots of other machine.

Power lines carry the electricity  from the power plants to a substation.

Then the distribution line carries electricity to homes where we use to light ect.

A house gets electricity from the distribution line.

Manakailani film festival

In Term 2 we were learning a lot about movie magic, and how movies can influence our world. We created many movies. We started by brainstorming key messages we could include in our movies. 

We also made a movie that explains how to plant kumara. It was really fun to do. We created this movie to inspire people to learn how to grow their own kumara.


Our movie for The Manaiakalani Film Festival is called 'School Is Cool'. We made it to share all of the cool learning and fun that we have at school.

Our movie was also shown at the Tamaki Primary Academy Awards. We created a PMI about Movie Magic and shared what we liked, what was challenging and interesting.

Room 7-How to plant Kumara

In week 3 Room 7 planted kumara in our school kai garden. We would like to say a special thank you to Koro for helping us.

As the sun went down and the moon came up,the moon lit up the night sky.As I walked outside I saw different fine colours and rainbows. The sky was lit up like a colourful rainbow. I could hear fireworks exploding and people were enjoying their fireworks. My dog was barking because he was locked inside an he was petrified if the noise. I could taste the smoky smoke and the fumes coming from the fireworks.It smelled like gun powder and sausage  sizzling  on the bbq.
I felt so happy, relaxed and goosebumps all over me. The fireworks in the night sky looked dazzling, spectacular and extraordinary.
